Taming The Beast?!?
The room is plain and fairly empty. A few hours before, it had been a small study, but Set and Dia have cleared all of that stuff out and made it a much more fitting arena to face The Beast in. After all, he is going to be violent enough when he realizes what they are going to try to do to him. It probably isn't a good idea to give him access to anything that could be used as ammo.
Dia watches as Set paces around the room checking the various wards that he placed on it when they moved in. They aren't anything special--just a few detection runes--but they were never meant to do anything like keeping The Beast in check. The Beast himself has seen to it that Set can't do anything like that. That is why Bazett is stopping by. She doesn't have to try and work around The Beast to do her work; she can just do it.
Set flops down into a cross-legged sit in the middle of the floor and sighs, "I think that's it until she comes. Hopefully, it won't be too long. I think he's starting to wonder. I'm trying to distance myself, but..."
Dia nods, fingering the capped needle in his hand, "I'm really sorry about this. I hate having to do it."
"Don't be, it has to be done and this is the safest way. Just promise me something," Set gives him a hard look. "Make sure you make the most of this. You need to talk to him. I doubt he's going to let us get away with this very often. Heck, maybe not ever again. This might be the only chance we get."
"I-I know," Dia's voice wavers a moment and then he steadies himself. "I am preparing myself. It's going to hurt, but hopefully it will be the first step toward making it so it doesn't hurt so much anymore."
Set smirks and motions for Dia to come and sit with him. When Dia joins him, he wraps his arms around his lover, "That's my Baby! You have no idea how good it makes me feel to hear you say that."
Dia blushes slightly, but doesn't reply. Instead, they wait for Bazett to again make her way into their home.

Dia sits up and fixes Set with a worried look, "Are you sure you are okay with all this? I mean,,,,"
Set reaches out and covers Dia's mouth with his hand to quiet him, "It's fine. This is definitely one geis I'm glad to take."
no subject
"You will still be able to fight. As long as Diarmuid does not interfere. I believe with the help of the geis, he would be able easily restrain the Beast should it ever attack an innocent."
no subject
"If nothing else she wouldn't end up finding her sleeping with her daughter, now would she?" Dia can't help but smirk. He's still unsure about all of this, but if everyone else was okay with it, then it wouldn't do him any good to continue to worry.
Set looks at him for a moment, a little surprised to hear such a joke from his lover and then starts laughing, "Oh, I don't know. We don't know how the Lass swings now do we? We shouldn't make assumptions."
no subject
"S-stop it. I know that my runic magic can likely never match yours. And even if Scathach were still around to take me as her pupil, I have no desire to sleep with her daughter!"
no subject
"I wonder," Dia smirks softly. "Do you think she might have eventually made it to the Throne? Of course, she would have had to die first and that is the hard part."
A look that is a mix of horror, curiosity, and maybe even a little excitement crosses Set's face, "Oh wouldn't that be something. If she showed up here..."

There were so many conflicting legends about that female hero. Some said she was a goddess, others just a very well-learned human warrior. But none of the legends had ever spoken of her end.

When Set trails off, Dia picks up to add in a few details, "She was a very skilled mortal, Bazett. Some people would say almost too skilled. The stories say when she realized she was becoming more than mortal because of that skill and her legend, she began seeking a way to die as a mortal. It was all she wished for. Unfortunately, but the time she started looking, it was already too late. Even her greatest pupil couldn't grant her wish."
no subject
She mutters. It must have been a horrible thing for Cu Chulainn to see his teacher in that state.
"The Shattering released all heroes, correct? If she somehow died in the future, even if she lives in the modern day, she should be here in some form."
It is bad attempt at comforting him, and she knows it.

"What makes you think she won't be kicking my ass as well, Set?" Dia asks, smirk back on his face. "She may think me as much of a lost cause as you."
no subject
Of course, there's the chance that Scathach might kick Bazett's ass too.
"But I already specialize in kicking ass."
no subject
"You can be good when you want to," Dia lightly punches Set's shoulder. "You just never want to."
"True, true, and I won't even blame The Beast for it, I just like having fun. We all know that," Set finally stands up and pulls Dia to his feet along with him. "Speaking of trouble, I can't drink, but what about you two? After all of that, a drink sounds really good. Wait, do we even have anything in the house after..."
Dia pauses for a moment, then shakes his head, "No, removing temptation remember?"
"Shit, well so much for that idea..."
no subject
She has grown a bit fatigued from her prana expenditure and wants to raise her energy.
"Do you think we could do a toast with that?"
no subject
"Ladies first," Set makes an exaggerated bow, motioning for Bazett to go ahead of them.
Dia bops him upside the head, "Don't think I don't see what you are doing. I really don't think she wants you looking at her butt the whole way."
Set stands back up and rubs his head, wincing in mock pain, "Baby, you hurt me! Surely, you really don't think me so crass!"
Dia raises an eyebrow at him, "Do I?"
"Ahhh, meanie," Set looks to Bazett with a hurt look on his face. It is kind of ruined by the twinkling in his eyes, "Lass, you should be defending my honor here!"
no subject
She is not quite sure how to respond.
"I am sure that he is not that crass. Even if he acts that way at times. You know him better than I do, Diarmuid. Perhaps you should trust him more. Also, I do not believe he needs more than one butt to look at."
no subject
Dia blushes and turns toward the door. He's still not good at teasing and Set is almost always able to turn it back on him, "Fine, whatever. Now I'm going first. When you are done discussing how crass you really are, I will be in the kitchen with tea and coffee." And before Set can say anything else smart, Dia slips from the room.
Set watches him go and shakes his head, "I really don't know how he manages to keep that little bit of innocence around me, but he does. I suppose I won't complain, though. It's cute." He looks down at her with a big smile, "Shall we go, Lass?"
no subject
She gives him a small smile in return.
"Yes, we should."
However, she remains still, as if challenging him to go first so she would not be the one displaying her figure to him.

She starts following him out. She is almost embarrassed to admit that at first, she had thought his love caused by the spot.

"N-no, it is nothing. I just remembered a past misconception. It was...something very silly."

As she continues to the kitchen, the smell gets stronger. A tiny growl sounds in her stomach. Her meal in the morning had been some cheap instant food (again). Somehow, smelling home-made foods was actually making her hungry.
no subject
Considering the disaster the kitchen was the last time Bazett saw it, it's pretty impressive that a guy with only one arm is keeping so much going and not burning anything down when it was a guy with two perfectly functional ones who had made such a mess of it in the first place.
"Have a seat, Bazett," Dia calls from over his shoulder. "I went ahead and poured you some of the coffee. If you would like something else, though, just let me know. I thought a little food wouldn't hurt after all the energy that we expended."
no subject
She has to marvel at how perfectly efficient Diarmuid is. Even with one arm, everything look better and neater than that time with Cu Chulainn.
She picks up the mug and smells the thick scent. It was very different from her usual fare. So different that she hesitates to call it coffee. It is not until she takes a little taste that she can call it coffee...and pretty good coffee at that.

"I think you're full of it," Dia turns toward them and sets a plate of sandwiches between them. "Or about to be full of it anyway. Eat and leave her in peace, would you?"
"Never!" Set grins and grabs a sandwich off the pile. Instead of saying anything else, though, he proceeds to make the sandwich disappear just as fast as he can.
Dia grabs a sandwich and hands it to Bazett, "Best get started before he inhales it all."
